Sunday 4th March

What a week just past. The coldest night over the week in the greenhouse was -2.5C I was not well and did not go far. Checked the greenhouse each day, but nothing else could be done. Saturday 3rd March brought snow. Thursday evenings wind brought down the fence on the north side of the garden. All in all not a brilliant week.

Sunday 25th February

Overnight in G/house 3.4 C Turned out to be a great day in the garden. I got most of the rest of the front border cleaned of weeds, only the area around the Irises to be done now. I tidied around the other front beds to repair the damage done by the birds looking for worms. Alison planted Yellow Lilies in the back garden as well as picking a load of Kale and PS Broccoli that was ready for eating. We decided to propagate our Scented Pelargoniums so we spent the afternoon doing that. If they all take we will be submerged in sweet smelling plants.  Forecast for next week not very good, cold East winds and possibly snow.

Jayden came today and helped me to put a weed proof membrane around the transplanted Gooseberry plants and the Nashi Pear. I will need to get some pebbles or sum such to cover that. Rest of week not good weather wise, very wet. Friday went into greenhouse and transplanted some "All year round" lettuces that have come on well since planting the seed. A brighter day Friday.
